Goa possesses not only a thriving tourism but also a quality of higher degree of education. The perfect serene ambience of the state makes it a pursed destination to the students from India and abroad. According to the 2011 Census Report, Goa has a higher literacy of 87.40% as compared to all Indian states of 74.04%, and also since the last decade this state has had an increase of 5.39% of literacy. Some of the institutions also provide distance learning education and online MBA degrees. Most of the educational institutions offering such courses are affiliated to education bodies such as Goa University, UGC and AICTE.
Goa has grown to be a great MBA destination with more and more industries and corporates also offering great placement opportunities in these MBA colleges in Goa. The management courses have added to the state’s known prominence of great tourism, hospitality and healthcare destination. According to a survey conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies and Confederation of India Industry, Industries in this state is ranked 4th in the country.
Goa has one of the highest per capita income ratios in the country with one of the highest literacy rates, highest road, rail, air and sea network density. Along with this, it has a lowest crime rates and a pleasant trade union management relationship. All these factors, together contribute towards a perfect environment favorable to making it a preferred destination for management studies and MBA institutions form an important part in the educational institutions list. Some of the reputed B-schools are housed in Goa which offers both full time and part time management courses. Correspondence or distance learning is also emerging to be a crucial part of the States’ educational system. Some of the top private institutions also provide distance management courses which are affiliated to top most universities as well as private. Some of the top institutions providing correspondence courses include Sikkim Manipal University, IFCAI University, etc.
