  5. There is no maximum age limit set by the ICAI for enrollment in the CA Foundation program.

Eligibility Criteria for CA Direct Entry Route (CA Intermediate):

  1. Direct entry into the CA Intermediate course is available to graduates or postgraduates from the Commerce stream who have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 55 percent (or an equivalent score). The subjects they must have studied include Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration, or Management Accounting.
  2. Graduates and postgraduates in subjects other than commerce must have received an overall grade point average of at least 60% (or its equivalent) on the exam given by any accredited university (including Open University).
  3. Candidates are also eligible for direct entry into the CA Intermediate level without first completing the Foundation course if they have successfully passed either the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) or The Institute of Cost and Work Accountants of India (ICWAI) Executive or Intermediate level examinations.
  4. Applicants in their final year of graduation can provisionally enroll in the CA Intermediate course. Official registration requires presenting the final year mark sheet or passing certificate within six months of appearing in the final year graduation test. ICITSS (Orientation Course and Information Technology) completion with honors is also required during the provisional registration period.

How to Become a Certified CA in India

Step 1: Take the CA Foundation Course or CA CPT.

After passing Class 12 with a minimum of 40% in each subject or a 50% overall grade, candidates can enroll for CA CPT. A graduate degree entitles a candidate to apply straight for CA admission at the IPCC level.

Step 2: Sign up with IPCC
