The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently issued an official announcement inviting ambitious applicants to take the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET). The CSIR UGC NET registration details are available in this article and it evaluates candidates' eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships and appointments as Assistant Professors in Indian institutions and colleges. 

The application link will be active beginning May 1st. The latest deadline to submit a completed application form is May 21, 2024. Candidates must register within this window to avoid the last-minute rush. The CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year (in June and December). It is a national-level examination that will be administered online via 225 test centres. The agency will take a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in the final week of June to select the eligible students.

The Computer-Based Test will be held on June 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2024. Candidates can only apply for the CSIR NET June 2024 online through the official website, csirnet.nta.ac, during the stated time frame. Before applying, candidates must confirm their eligibility, age limit, registration fee, and other registration-related facts.

CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Students who have received at least 55% in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university are eligible for this test. Candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Third Gender category who have obtained at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in a Master's degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Age Limit

The student's age must not be over 30 years as of the 1st day of the month the examination is organised, i.e. June 2024. A relaxation of up to 5 years is offered to the students belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and women candidates.
