This week, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the updated results for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024. After taking into account the right answer for each of the physics questions, the updated result will be announced. This year, 67 students shared the top spot in the all-India rankings. Six of them were on the list because the invigilators' errors resulted in extra marks being awarded to make up for the time lost during the exam. Up to 44 people received grace marks for answering a physics question incorrectly, which prevented them from placing first. The candidates' ranks will be adjusted with the release of the updated results, as the Supreme Court ruled that there would only be one correct response and that anyone providing a different response would not be awarded points. This implies that the scores of the remaining 14 candidates, who received 720, and the remaining 70 applicants, who received 716 marks out of 720, would now be reduced to 715 out of 720 for these 44 candidates. Only these 44 will be ranked after them.

The deadline for applicants in the general and general PH categories has been raised from 720-137 to 720-164 this year. The maximum scores obtained in the all-India common merit list for NEET UG 2024 are used by the NTA to calculate the NEET UG percentile. Additionally, the percentile will change. A total of 24,06,079 students registered for the medical entrance exam this year, and 23,33,297 of them showed up.
